Surrounded by tenement flats and a bustling wet market the old Sharp Street Depot had character and atmosphere. It was also a valuable piece of real estate which Tramway’s owners – the Wharf Group were keen to redevelop. On the 21st February 1989 the last tram left the depot. The Times Square complex now stands on the site.
