Question by arianaauburn: Has anyone bought a cheap house?
I was wondering if the current rise in homeowner foreclosures has helped anyone buy a house on the cheap.

No I have not, however, if you can afford it now is the time to buy a house. Saving up for it is best. Rely on credit as little as possible. It is nice to actually own what you are living in.

In my part of the country (Texas) prices have steadly when up, not down with all the foreclosures. The reason here is there is so many investors buying that they keep the prices up. I have been flipping houses for 6 years now. The same house I could buy 3 yrs ago for 30K is now 45k. The prices are still low for investors.
A client of mine just got a huge price reduction!
